A joint delegation consisting of employees from Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan and the University of Shangla met with Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, at the Governor House. During the meeting, Member of Provincial Assembly Arbab Zarak Khan, Provincial President of People’s Youth Organization Malik Amjad Aziz Awan, and General Secretary Hazrat Ali Yousafzai were also present.
The delegation informed the Governor about the issues faced by the universities and their staff in the province, requesting his intervention to resolve these matters. In response, the Governor assured the delegation that their concerns would be addressed on a priority basis.
The Governor expressed regret over the fact that out of the 34 universities in the province, 26 do not have permanent Vice-Chancellors, which he called deeply concerning. He mentioned that he had written to the Chief Minister regarding the appointment of permanent Vice-Chancellors, but this issue remains unresolved, affecting not only the universities but also the students. He emphasized that universities are the foundation for shaping the future of the youth, and their future cannot be compromised. As Chancellor, he reaffirmed his commitment to addressing the financial, administrative, and faculty-related challenges faced by the universities.
